PROJECT INFORMATION
This office project, completed in 2009, is located on the 22nd floor of one of the most crowded spots in the world: the heart of Times Square in New York City.
It is in this hectic and intense environment that we face the challenge of designing a 5000 square foot office space for an international celebrity in the music world, and who’s main concerns were to break with the corporate image of the administrative world, and to be able to generate a homey atmosphere in the work zone, always keeping in mind an elegant and sophisticated look.
The main program holds four executive offices, which were personalized based on the users requirements; three standard offices, which were designed with a pure and clean aesthetic; and a reception area next to the main entrance. The program is completed by a conference room, a kitchen with an eating area, and one of the main challenges of the project: placing eight work stations in a rectangular central area which was occupied by a steel stair centered in it.
The design strategy was based on a palette of neutral colors and natural textures, achieving with this a warm and comfortable atmosphere really important to our client. Each and every one of the different spaces, had been given the required importance with functional and elegant furniture (and accessories) chosen with intense care for their specific use, as we would do when choosing furniture for our own homes.
It was a huge satisfaction achieving this familiar and warm atmosphere so important to our client, to the point of feeling “at home” in this working space.
